How to Grow

Once you have your seeds, you will need to prepare the soil. Summer savory prefers well-drained soil with a neutral pH. You can amend your soil with compost or other organic matter to improve its quality. Next, you will need to plant your seeds. You can sow them directly into the soil, or you can start them indoors and transplant them later. If you choose to start them indoors, you will need to plant them in small pots or seed trays and keep them in a warm, sunny location. When your seedlings have grown to a height of about 3 inches, you can transplant them into your garden. Be sure to space them about 6 inches apart to give them room to grow. Finally, you will need to care for your summer savory plants. They prefer full sun and regular watering, but be careful not to overwater them as this can lead to root rot. You can also feed them with a balanced fertilizer every few weeks to encourage healthy growth.
