Oregano is a wonderful herb for any garden. Widely known for it's health benefits as well as culinary uses in Italian cuisine.
You can either start oregano in seed trays or you can direct sow them into the soil.
If sowing in a seed tray simply start them indoors 6 to 10 weeks before setting them in the garden. Keep soil moist and at a temperature around 70 degrees until they emerge. They should emerge in 8 to 14 days. Make sure they can receive daily light once they have sprouted. Once danger of frost has past plant them in well drained soil about 10 inches apart.
If direct sowing only plant them after danger of frost has past. Plant seeds in well drained soil. Once they emerge thin down to one plant every 10 inches or so. Harvest leaves and enjoy.
