This heirloom was given to us by our neighbors John and Minnie Baldwin. It is a true Appalachian heirloom grown in the Blue Ridge mountains for decades and passed down through the generations. A good producer of large pods some with red streaks. Okra plants can grow to 10 feet high. Best when eaten 6 inches or less. Very good flavor

How to Save Seeds

Usually self pollinating however can occur within less than 1 mile. So proceed with caution on planting more than one variety. Let pods harden on stalk; they will become woody and then seeds are ready. Simply take them off pod and crack open for getting seeds out for saving.
