An old time favorite, this variety of rhubarb is known to be the finest when it comes to culinary uses. A perennial plant that dates back to the early 1800s. Beautiful green stalks with blush streaks. Best grown in the mid Atlantic region. Rhubarb leaves are poisonous so do not consume the leaves, just the stalks. The first year they need to be allowed to grow in order to well establish, but the stalks can be harvested the second year for baking.
