How to Grow
Growing catnip from seeds is a simple and rewarding process that can be done at home. To start, choose a well-draining pot or container that is at least 6-8 inches deep. Fill the container with a good quality potting soil and moisten it slightly. Next, sprinkle the catnip seeds over the top of the soil and gently press them into the surface. Do not bury the seeds too deep as they require light to germinate. Once the seeds are planted, cover the container with a plastic wrap or a clear lid to create a greenhouse effect. Place the container in a warm, sunny location and keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. The catnip should germinate within 7-14 days. Once the seedlings have grown a few inches tall, remove the plastic wrap or lid and continue to water as needed. As the plants grow, you can pinch off the tips to encourage bushier growth. Harvest the leaves and flowers regularly to promote new growth and to prevent the plant from becoming too woody.
