This is an annual herb. Stemmy, fast growing plant goes to seed quickly. Large umbels are covered with masses of seed. Good for pickling.
Direct sow dill seeds only after danger of frost has past. Soil should be around 70 degrees or so. Do not plant deep. Direct sowing is recommend for dill over transplanting. Plant seeds in rich well drained soil. Once they emerge thin down to one plant every 8 inches or so. Watch out for butterflies they love eating dill.
