 How to grow

Butterfly weed prefers full sun, so choose a location that gets at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. It also prefers well-draining soil, so avoid areas with standing water. Plant in the spring: Butterfly weed can be planted in the spring after all danger of frost has passed. Prepare the soil: Amend the soil with compost or other organic matter to improve drainage and fertility. Butterfly weed can tolerate poor soil, but will grow better with good soil preparation. Water regularly: Water the plants regularly, especially during dry periods. Butterfly weed is drought tolerant, but will grow better with regular water. Mulch: Apply a layer of mulch around the plants to conserve moisture and suppress weeds. Deadhead: Remove spent flowers to encourage new growth and prolong the blooming period. Divide: Butterfly weed can be divided every few years to prevent overcrowding and maintain vigorous growth.
