Green Zebra Tomato is a striking heirloom variety celebrated for its vibrant green and yellow striped appearance, tangy sweet flavor, and exceptional garden performance. Belonging to the Solanaceae family, this unique tomato develops beautiful golden yellow skin accented with dark green stripes as the fruits ripen, creating one of the most visually distinctive tomatoes available for home gardens and fresh culinary creations.
The medium-sized fruits typically reach about 2 inches in diameter and offer a wonderfully balanced flavor that combines bright tanginess with subtle sweetness. Their firm texture and refreshing taste make Green Zebra tomatoes excellent for salads, fresh salsa, garnishes, sandwiches, and colorful summer dishes where both flavor and appearance truly stand out.
Green Zebra Tomato thrives in warm sunny conditions and performs best with at least 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight daily. Fertile well-drained soil rich in organic matter combined with regular watering helps encourage vigorous growth and abundant fruit production throughout the season. Many gardeners prefer starting seeds indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the final frost date before transplanting seedlings outdoors once temperatures warm.

How to Save Seeds
Tomatoes are self-pollinating, so separating varieties by approximately 50 feet is generally sufficient for maintaining seed purity.
Harvest tomatoes when fully ripe and allow them to sit for several days if desired before processing seeds.
Cut fruits in half and scoop the seeds and pulp into a mason jar with a small amount of water for fermentation. Seal loosely and place the jar in a warm location away from direct sunlight.
After 5 to 7 days, remove floating seeds and mold from the top. Pour the remaining healthy seeds through a fine mesh strainer and dry thoroughly on screens or paper towels, turning seeds regularly to prevent sticking before storing in a cool dry location.
