How to Save Seeds

Lima beans will readily cross-pollinate with other lima bean varieties, so proper isolation is important for maintaining seed purity.

If growing multiple lima bean varieties, separate them by at least one mile whenever possible.

Allow pods to fully mature and dry completely on the plants before harvesting. Mature dry pods will contain fully developed seeds ready for storage.

Once harvested, shell the beans, remove debris or damaged seeds, and store them in a cool dry location for future planting.
