How to Save Seeds

Peppers are primarily self-pollinating, though varieties within the same species can cross-pollinate. To maintain seed purity, separate pepper varieties by at least 500 feet whenever possible.

Allow peppers to fully ripen and dry on the plant before harvesting for seed saving.

Once harvested, cut the peppers open and carefully remove the seeds from the interior of the fruit.

Spread seeds out in a dry location with good airflow and allow them to dry thoroughly for approximately one week before storing in a cool dry location for future planting.
