Yolo Wonder Bell Pepper is a dependable heirloom sweet pepper variety prized for its large blocky fruits, thick juicy walls, and excellent disease resistance. An improved strain of the classic California Wonder pepper, Yolo Wonder produces larger fruits and stronger plants while maintaining the rich sweet flavor gardeners and cooks love.

The peppers mature from green to a beautiful vibrant red and feature a crisp texture with mild sweet flavor. Their thick walls make them outstanding for stuffing, grilling, roasting, stir-fries, salads, and fresh eating.

Yolo Wonder plants are vigorous and productive, thriving in warm sunny conditions with regular watering and fertile well-drained soil. Plants benefit from staking or cages to support the heavy fruits during peak production.

Highly versatile in the kitchen and reliable in the garden, Yolo Wonder Bell Pepper remains one of the best heirloom sweet peppers for home gardeners and market growers alike.

How to Save Seeds

Peppers are primarily self-pollinating, but they can cross-pollinate with other peppers within the same species. To maintain seed purity, separate varieties by at least 500 feet.

Allow peppers to fully ripen and dry on the plant before harvesting for seed saving.

Once harvested, cut open the peppers and remove the seeds. Spread the seeds out in a dry, well-ventilated location and allow them to dry thoroughly for about a week before storage.

Store fully dried seeds in a cool dry place for future planting seasons.
