How to Save Seeds

Allow the plants to fully mature until flowers begin to appear and dry naturally on the stalk. Waiting for full maturity helps ensure the seeds are fully developed and viable for future planting.

Once the flowers have dried, gently pluck the seed heads and shake them over a bowl or container to release the seeds. You may also cut the entire plant and hang it upside down inside a paper bag to dry completely.

After the plant material has fully dried, shake the bag or seed heads to separate the seeds. Remove excess chaff and debris before storage.

Store seeds in a cool dry location inside airtight containers or labeled paper envelopes until ready for future planting seasons.
