The humble Pinto Beans are like the Picasso of legumes, boasting a stunning mix of colors. With a name meaning "painted" in Spanish, these beans are like little pieces of art - a sprinkle of beige here, a dash of reddish-brown there, creating a feast for the eyes and the taste buds. Planted in soil, they burst forth with lush green leaves, each one a masterpiece of nature's design. Highly productive with a semi runner habit.
Growing pinto beans is a breeze - just pop them in well-drained soil, give them sunlight, and watch them sprout. As they grow, they produce delicate pods and come harvest time, the pods ripen to a deep color, ready to be plucked and savored in dishes that will make your taste buds dance.

How to Save Seeds
Beans seldom cross pollinate with one another since they are considered to be self pollinators. However that isn't to say it won't occur. So as a precaution it is recommended to grow to different colors of beans near one another if you are limited on space and then observe the seeds when ready. The seed will show signs of crossing if you grew to different colors. If you are concerned about crossing separate by 150ft as a rule. Harvest when completely dried; cure them for a week or so by allowing them to further dry out in their pods spread out from one another, then shell and discard trash.
