How to Save Hungarian Hot Wax Pepper Seeds

Hungarian Hot Wax Peppers are primarily self-pollinating, but cross-pollination can occur between peppers of the same species. To maintain seed purity, separate different pepper varieties by at least 500 feet whenever possible.

Allow peppers to fully ripen and dry naturally on the plant before harvesting for seed saving. Mature peppers intended for seed collection will develop full color and begin drying slightly on the stalk. Once harvested, cut open the peppers and carefully scoop out the seeds. Spread the seeds onto a paper towel, screen, or drying rack in a warm, well-ventilated area. Allow Hungarian Hot Wax Pepper seeds to dry thoroughly for approximately one week before storing them in a cool, dry location for future planting seasons.
