★ Organically grown on our farm

Kentucky Beefsteak Tomato is a beautiful heirloom variety prized for its rich golden-yellow fruits, meaty texture, and full-bodied old-fashioned tomato flavor. These large beefsteak tomatoes bring both vibrant color and exceptional taste to the garden and kitchen, making them a favorite among heirloom tomato enthusiasts.

The fruits typically grow to the size of a baseball and can range from 8 ounces to well over a pound under ideal conditions. Their dense juicy flesh makes them excellent for slicing, sandwiches, fresh salads, and cooking.

Kentucky Beefsteak grows on vigorous indeterminate vines that continue producing throughout the growing season until frost. Due to the heavy fruit load, sturdy cages or staking are highly recommended to support healthy productive plants.

Combining striking color, excellent flavor, and dependable productivity, Kentucky Beefsteak is a wonderful heirloom tomato for gardeners looking to grow something both beautiful and delicious.

How to Save Seeds

Tomatoes are primarily self-pollinating, so separating varieties by approximately 50 feet is generally sufficient for maintaining seed purity.

Harvest fully ripe tomatoes for seed saving. Fruits may even sit for several days after ripening before processing.

Cut tomatoes in half and scoop the seeds and pulp into a mason jar with a small amount of water for fermentation. Seal loosely and place the jar in a warm location out of direct sunlight.

Allow the mixture to ferment for 5-7 days. Remove floating debris and mold, then pour the remaining viable seeds through a fine mesh strainer and rinse thoroughly.

Spread seeds on paper towels or drying screens and stir frequently during drying to prevent sticking. Once fully dry, store seeds in a cool dry place for future planting.
