Orange Habanero Pepper is a fiery heirloom variety prized for its intense heat, vibrant orange color, and bold tropical flavor. Recognizable by its small lantern-shaped fruits, this pepper delivers a powerful kick while also offering fruity and citrus-like undertones that enhance a wide variety of culinary dishes.
Measuring between 1 to 2.5 inches long, Orange Habanero peppers range from 100,000 to 350,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU), making them significantly hotter than jalapeños. Their complex flavor profile makes them a favorite for homemade hot sauces, salsas, marinades, and spicy recipes.
Thriving in warm climates with full sun and well-drained soil, Orange Habanero plants are productive and relatively easy to grow with proper care. Rich in vitamins and antioxidants, these peppers bring both heat and flavor to the garden and kitchen alike.

How to Save Orange Habanero Pepper Seeds
Orange Habanero Peppers are primarily self-pollinating, but cross-pollination can occur between peppers of the same species. To maintain seed purity, separate different pepper varieties by at least 500 feet whenever possible.
Allow peppers to fully ripen and dry naturally on the plant before harvesting for seed saving. Mature peppers intended for seed collection will develop their full orange coloration and begin to soften slightly. Once harvested, carefully cut open the peppers and scoop out the seeds. Spread the seeds out on a paper towel, screen, or drying rack in a warm, well-ventilated area. Allow Orange Habanero Pepper seeds to dry thoroughly for approximately one week before storing them in a cool, dry location for future planting seasons.
