How to Save Sweet Cherry Pepper Seeds

Sweet Cherry Peppers are primarily self-pollinating, but they can cross-pollinate with other pepper varieties of the same species. To maintain seed purity, separate different pepper varieties by at least 500 feet when saving seeds.

Allow Sweet Cherry Peppers to fully ripen and begin drying naturally on the plant before harvesting for seed saving. Once harvested, cut the peppers open and carefully remove the seeds from the interior.

Spread the seeds out in a single layer on a screen, paper towel, or drying rack and allow them to dry thoroughly for approximately one week. Once completely dry, store the seeds in a cool dry location in a labeled airtight container for future planting seasons.
