Perfection Savoy cabbage, with its crinkly, deep green leaves and mild flavor, is a culinary gem that brings both visual appeal and nutritional benefits to the table. Known for its tender texture and slightly sweet taste, this variety of cabbage stands out among its more common counterparts like green or red cabbage. Its leaves are less dense and more pliable, making it an ideal choice for a variety of dishes, from salads and soups to stuffed cabbage rolls and stir-fries.
Cultivating Perfection Savoy cabbage requires some attention to detail, but the rewards are well worth the effort. It thrives in cool weather and requires a well-drained, fertile soil rich in organic matter. Planting should be done in early spring or late summer to avoid the intense heat of midsummer, which can cause the cabbage to bolt and become less flavorful. Regular watering and monitoring for pests, such as cabbage worms and aphids, are essential to ensure a healthy crop. Its versatility in the kitchen means it can be enjoyed in numerous ways, whether raw, sautéed, or fermented. For anyone seeking to add a touch of elegance and a burst of nutrition to their meals, Perfection Savoy cabbage is an excellent choice.

How to Save Seeds
Cabbage will cross pollinate with any member of the Brassica oleracea which includes cauliflower, broccoli, kale, and brussel sprouts so separate by 1 mile . They also require overwintering for seed. So you'll want to preserve the head when overwintering by either heavily mulching the plant or if you have colder winters transplant the plant from the garden to a pot of sand and store over winter in an area between 35 to 40 degrees. Once spring arrives simply place the plant back out into the garden and allow to bolt. Once pods appear and dry out harvest and store seeds.
