Perfection Savoy Cabbage is a stunning heirloom variety prized for its deeply crinkled dark green leaves, tender texture, and wonderfully mild sweet flavor. This elegant savoy cabbage stands apart from traditional smooth-leaf varieties thanks to its beautiful appearance and exceptional culinary versatility.

The loosely packed heads develop soft pliable leaves that are perfect for fresh salads, soups, stir-fries, sautés, stuffed cabbage rolls, and fermented dishes. Its delicate texture and slightly sweet flavor make it especially enjoyable both raw and cooked.

Perfection Savoy thrives in cool weather and grows best in fertile well-drained soil with consistent moisture and full sun exposure. This variety performs exceptionally well in spring and fall gardens where cooler temperatures enhance both flavor and texture.

Highly nutritious and visually striking, Perfection Savoy Cabbage is a wonderful heirloom choice for gardeners looking to add beauty, flavor, and versatility to their harvest.

How to Save Seeds

Cabbage will cross-pollinate with any member of the Brassica oleracea family, including broccoli, cauliflower, kale, and Brussels sprouts, so separate varieties by at least one mile for seed purity.

Because cabbage is a biennial crop, plants require overwintering before they will produce seed. In mild climates, heavily mulch plants through winter. In colder regions, carefully dig plants and store them in damp sand at temperatures between 35-40°F.

Once spring arrives, replant the cabbage and allow it to bolt and flower. When seed pods dry completely on the plant, harvest the pods and collect the seeds for storage.
