How to Save Simpson Elite Lettuce Seeds
Lettuce is primarily self-pollinating, making seed saving simple for home gardeners. Different lettuce varieties can typically be separated by about 50 feet to maintain seed purity.
For seed production, lettuce plants should be established before cold weather arrives. Gardeners often mulch plants heavily through winter and allow them to bolt naturally the following season.
