How to Grow

Prepare a container or garden bed using rich well-drained soil in a location that receives plenty of warmth and sunlight. Basil thrives in full sun and warm temperatures.

Fill containers with quality potting soil, leaving approximately one inch below the rim. Sprinkle seeds lightly over the soil surface without covering heavily, as basil seeds require light for best germination.

Water gently after planting, taking care not to displace the seeds. Keep the soil consistently moist but never overly wet during germination.

Place containers or seed trays in a warm sunny location such as a greenhouse, windowsill, or protected outdoor area. Seedlings typically emerge within one to two weeks.

As plants grow, thin seedlings to prevent overcrowding and encourage vigorous healthy growth. Harvest leaves regularly to promote branching and continual production throughout the growing season.
