How to Grow

Summer Savory grows best in well-drained soil with a neutral pH and full sun exposure. Amend the soil with compost or organic matter before planting to encourage healthy vigorous growth.

Seeds may be sown directly outdoors after danger of frost has passed or started indoors several weeks early for transplanting later. Cover seeds lightly with soil and keep consistently moist during germination.

If starting indoors, transplant seedlings outdoors once they reach approximately 3 inches tall. Space plants about 6 inches apart to allow proper airflow and growth.

Water regularly but avoid overly wet soil conditions, as excessive moisture can lead to root rot. Occasional feeding with a balanced fertilizer will encourage healthy leafy growth.

Harvest leaves as needed throughout the growing season for fresh use or dry them for long-term storage.
