How to Save Seeds

First, you'll need to wait until the Malabar spinach plant has produced mature seed pods. These will usually appear towards the end of the growing season, and they'll be easy to spot – they're long and slender, with a slightly curved shape. Once you've located the seed pods, you'll need to carefully remove them from the plant. Be sure to do this gently, so as not to damage the pods or the seeds inside. Next, you'll need to let the seed pods dry out completely. You can do this by placing them in a warm, dry location for a few weeks. As the pods dry, they'll start to split open, revealing the small, black Malabar spinach seeds inside. Once the seed pods have completely dried out and split open, you can carefully remove the seeds from inside. Be sure to store them in a cool, dry location until you're ready to use them. Overall, saving Malabar spinach seeds is a simple and rewarding process that can help ensure that this unique plant continues to thrive for years to come.
